The business began by chance when Martin and Kim accompanied Dr. Frank Booth to the first Great Lakes Terrier Association show in 1969. Frank had been hired to judge there.  When the show photographer did not show up, Frank spoke up and said, "My son is a photographer.  Marti go get your camera!"  Martin had been shooting for Panorama Magazine featuring local clubs and entertainers in the Detroit MI area.  While he enjoyed the work, the pay was poor.  Martin had quickly learned that photographing entertainers was a tough way to make a living.  They either "hadn't made it yet" and therefore couldn't afford photos or they were already popular and photographers were throwing their work at them without expecting monetary compensation.  Martin took the photographs at his first dog show, mailed the photos out to the exhibitors with invoices and low and behold, they paid him!  And that my friends, is how Booth Photography, Inc was "born".

In 1978, after 4 years in the U.S. Air Force, Martin's son Kim joined the business. After Martin's untimely passing in 1985, Kim took over the family business keeping it growing and flourishing.

In 2007 Kim and wife Angela were joined by daughter Alyssia making not only a four generation dog show family, but also a three generation dog show photography family!

Kim, Angela and Alyssia make up the nucleus of a team of talented dog show photographers who know dogs and how they should look. Having bred and exhibited top winning Papillons they know how important win photos are and do their best to get you the best photo possible.
